Biodegradable in Motion
If a still image can have a substantial impact, does the
animation of the image assist or detract from the initial reaction? Animating a
static image gives the artist a whole new palette to experiment from. By using
a static image of the vending machine, my hope is to show the impulsive act
that is associated with a vending machine purchase. The images that pass in
front of the background image are fleeting, but alter the environment in the
end. Through motion, one is able to see what can happen if an impulse purchase
is made, even on an item that lives and breathes.
